Victoria’s New Skilled Visa Application Process
Step 1: Verify Eligibility
Before you begin, make sure you are eligible based on the requirements set forth by the Department of Immigration and Border Protection (DIBP). You must meet all Skilled Nominated visa subclass 190 requirements as well as Victoria’s minimum nomination requirements to be considered.
Step 2: Lodge an Expression of Interest (EOI)
Next, you will have to lodge an Expression of Interest (EOI). This lets the government know that you are interested in obtaining a Skilled Nominated visa subclass 190.
Step 3: Check Email for Selection
Diligently check your email for a response to your EOI. Remember to check your junk mail folders as well. There is no verified timeframe for a response, and you are not guaranteed to receive an invitation. The response will be sent to the email address you used to submit your EOI.
Step 4: Complete Online Application for Nomination
Once invited, you can complete an online application for nomination. This must be done within 14 days of receiving your invitation. You will be required to demonstrate that you still meet all claims made in your EOI. You should have supporting documentation ready because the 14-day timeframe is not extendable.
Step 5: Apply for Skilled Nominated Visa Subclass 190
If you are nominated, then you will be sent a SkillSelect invitation. This is what you use to apply for a Skilled Nomination subclass 190 visa.
Step 6: Submit Visa Application
Complete your visa application within 60 days of nomination and send it to the DIBP for processing.
