TRANSFERRING FUNDS
Sending money overseas to pay for visa or relocation costs can be expensive if you’re using the major banks. Here’s a great alternative.

What you need to know
OFX is an Australian based, independent, reputable foreign exchange provider.
OFX provides a very competitive alternative to a bank transfer, as the transfer is quicker, cheaper, and has a more favourable exchange rate, meaning you save money.
Using the OFX platform, you can easily transfer funds from your own bank account, into a third-party bank account.
Transfers to and from the following countries are serviced by OFX:
United States | Australia | United Kingdom | Canada |
Europe | India | China | New Zealand |
Hong Kong | Singapore | Japan | Germany |
France | Taiwan | Denmark | Saudi Arabia |
Other countries, which are higher risk, may require the use of an alternative currency provider.
It is very easy to set up an account with OFX online or over the phone.
You can use OFX to transfer visa professional fees, and lodgment charges, to Emergico, during your application.
Later, if you are happy with the service, you may choose to use OFX to transfer funds across to Australia for other purposes, such as relocation expenses, house or car purchases.
Emergico, as a referral partner, may receive a small commission from OFX when a transfer is made. Any commission received is used to partially offset the additional costs we incur when dealing in multiple currencies.
