Depending upon the type of study you wish to undertake, you may qualify for a Student Visa. People from different countries are subject to different Assessment Levels when applying for student visas. There are different entry requirements for each Assessment Level.

Strategic Review of the Student Visa Program 2011
In December 2010 the Hon Michael Knight AO, was appointed to conduct a strategic review of Australia’s student visa program. His report was released in September 2011. More information can be found at http://www.immi.gov.au/students/knight/
There were 41 important Recommendations, which are progressively being implemented.
On December 1, 2011, the Minister for Immigration and Citizenship announced that the post study work arrangements would be extended from 2013. This means that eligible graduates who complete their degrees after at least two years study in Australia will be able to access post-study work arrangements.
